The MN Stallion Incentive program is a great way to advertise and promote your stallion. Each stallion is nominated for a fee of $250.00.
All eligible stallions can be previewed on our website (above).
The futurity nominated stallions will be rewarded points based on the times for himself or his get, for each go-round of the futurity and maturity. The top 4 stallions will receive payout.
The Breeders’ Incentive
Stallions enrolled in the 2019 MN Futurity Program will be promoted on the MN Futurity website, face book, MN Futurity Event Program & all of SC Productions Event Programs that’s over 1,000 programs each year. Money collected from the stallion nominations goes towards the MN Futurity Breeder’s Futurity and Maturity purse. Eligible Horses (35% Futurity, 25% Maturity). MN Futurity pays back 20% to stallion owners placing in 1st go, 2nd go and/or average & 20% to MN Futurity for advertising, website, face book, administration, awards and stallion promotions. Plus… 100% of Breeders Entry Fee will be added to the Incentive purse that will be paid out in Each Go and Average in a 2D format. Entries are checked for eligibility to breeders’ incentive fund money. All foals by the nominated stallions will be eligible. Stallion owners must nominate on an annual basis in order for foals to be eligible. The incentive fund is an additional side pot of money for entries that are sired by the nominated stallions or the stallion himself.
Open Futurity & Maturity
The MN Futurity & Maturity will take place in conjunction with the B. Tuff Barrel Race, hosted by SC Productions LLC, in Winona, MN. Largest barrel races in the Midwest.
2D futurity open to horses born 2014 or 2015. Include a copy of Registration Papers with your entry form.
Horse(s) must never have entered a barrel race ever (open shows, rodeos, jackpots, futurities, etc) prior to December 1st, 2018. Exhibition or “time only” runs prior to December 1st are allowed.
2D Maturity open to horses born 2014 or later that are not competing in the MN Futurity and/or open to horses by the incentive stallions (complete list on MNFuturity.com) or the stallion himself. Once a horse, born 2011 OR later, OR has competed in the MN Futurity and/or Maturity they are eligible for life. Include a copy of Registration Papers with your entry form.
A photocopy, front and back, of the registration papers MUST accompany the entry form. Check with your veterinarian for coggins and travel requirements to Minnesota.
Owners must have registration papers, at check in time. Check in times to be posted in the office.
All entries will be checked to verify if the horse is eligible for the Breeders’ Incentive. Those eligible will be by a current year nominated stallion. See list under stallions above.
Owner may enter more than one horse. Owner does not have to ride the horse. Either male or female is allowed. Riders must be 18 years of age or have parental signature to be eligible to ride.
The substitute horse/rider must meet all requirements. Horse and rider substitutions must be made in the show by 8pm Friday night before the event. No changes for Futurity & Maturity are allowed after we close entries Friday night 8pm. There will be a $25.00 fee for substitutions of horse or rider.
Awards
Futurity - The Breeders Futurity payouts will be paid out in 2D format, full second split. Payback will be 35% of 2017 Breeders Incentive allotted money. Plus… 100% of Breeders Entry Fee will be added to the Incentive purse. 2 Go’s and an Average with each go paying 30% and 40% to the average. Awards are based on the Average. Trophy Saddle awarded to the fastest futurity breeders Average Champion.
There will be two go-rounds in the MN Futurity. Total times of the two rounds will determine the average awards winners.
The Open Futurity will be paid out in 2D format, full second split. Award money will be 75% of entry fees along with 100% of the added money. 2 Go’s and an Average with each go paying 30% and 40% to the average. Awards are based on the Average.
Distribution of purse and average will be:
1-30 entries 3 monies (50-30-20)
31-60 entries 4 monies (40-30-20-10)
61 & UP entries 5 monies (30-25-20-15-10)
*Upon the result of a tie, money will be added together and split evenly for payback. Awards will be given out according to fastest individual time.
Maturity - The Breeders Maturity payouts will be paid out in 2D format, half second split. Payback will be 25% of the Breeders Incentive allotted money. Plus… 100% of Breeders Entry Fee will be added to the Incentive purse. 2 Go’s and an Average with each go paying 30% and 40% to the average. Awards are based on the Average. Trophy saddle awarded to the fastest Maturity Breeders Average champion.
There will be two go-rounds in the MN Maturity. Total times of the two rounds will determine the average awards winners.
The Open Maturity will be paid out in 2D format, half second split. Award money will be 75% of entry fees along with 100% of the added money. 2 Go’s and an Average with each go paying 30% and 40% to the average. Awards are based on the Average.
Stallion Incentive Purse – 20% of Stallion Breeders Incentive Allotted Money. Payout will be based on entries placing in the 1D each Go &/or Average in both the Futurity and Maturity. 100% of all Stallion money will be paid out EACH YEAR. All Stallions will have to renew their enrollment annually each year.
Race Rules
Barrel race is a timed event, using 55 – gallon steel drums. Both ends of the barrels must be enclosed.
A maximum of three gate calls will be made, after which the horse and rider will be disqualified for that go-round. Entries must be in the warm up pen during the drag prior to your run. Running out of draw order is - Disqualification
A cordless eye will be used. New batteries will be placed in the timer prior to the start of each go-round for the futurity.
Should the timer fail, entry will get a rerun option.
Contestant dress: Western boots, long sleeve shirt and hat are required during scheduled runs. Long sleeve shirts with no collars will be allowed.
First go draw order designates rake breaks and is reversed for the second go. Bottom of ground will receive top of the ground and so forth. Rake breaks will not change for the second go. LATE ENTRIES WILL BE LAST FOR THE FIRST GO and FIRST FOR THE SECOND GO.
Any disputes or questions that arise during the course of the event which are not covered by the above rules will be determined by MN Futurity & SC Production Producers.
Fees & Dates
Futurity entry fee is a one time fee postmarked by May 15, 2019.
Maturity entry fee is a one time fee postmarked by May 15, 2019.
Horses entered in the Open Futurity and Maturity that are breeders eligible will have an option of paying an extra $100 fee to nominate for the Breeders Incentive. 100% of Breeders Entry Fee will be added to the Incentive purse. Horses will only run one time.
All horses must be entered in the open Futurity and Maturity
Horses must be an offspring of one of the paid to date Stallions or one of the stallions if said stallion is eligible.

Late entries close at 8PM, Friday before said event. All Late entries after May 15th will be subjects to a $50 late fee
There will be a $25.00 charge each time a check is returned for any reason. This fee must be made prior to the 1st horse running in the class or your horse will be scratched. No refunds in any case.
